"Mankind"

A poem I wrote in September of 2010

Mankind

what's a matter with you
just what you gonna do
about all these problems
and all this pollution
would you kindly pause
long enough
to work on a good cause
instead of selfish stuff
Just who are you
the Devil
All you do
is works of evil
You know his name
Yet you're the one
should take the blame
for all you've done
to drive us all insane
with all kinds of concerns
and worries
Things need to take a turn
But you're not in a hurry
to be good problem solvers
for the better and not the worse
You've put upon our planet
one big gigantic curse
So take some positive action
before it is to late
So we can put food on our plates
that is good and healthy
not contaminated and filthy
You've made people sick and ill
Yet you don't want to foot the bill
Do you even have a clue
of all the things you need to do
We need more then hope
We need someone to care
Someone with a bright new scope
So if you dare
take on a new action plan
You know you can
Why is money more important
then the lives of people
Some things are big time wrong
all ya'll ding dongs
and ya'll business people
It was a preventable happening
All that Gulf coast flooding
after Hurricane Katrina
All those poor folks had to go
to the great big arena
It was one great big nightmare
But our government didn't seem ta care
to act fast to save those folks from
hunger, thirst, pain, suffering and death
plus all kinds of horrors they had to succumb
Thousands of people under threat
Many died and lost their lives
while others had to endure long hours
of heat and filthy water until help arrived
Isn't America is one of the super powers
Many a life ruined or lost
Higer ups didn't want ta pay the cost
People will never be the same
Thanks to those dark wet days
We need to love each other
hold hands and care
Just practise Goodness
would ya dare

my poem "Stuck Up Girl"

Hi people!  There are many a stuck-up person out there in the world.  I mean who knows how in the world a person can turn up so "upitty" or "stuck-up" but you have to realize maybe they really can't help how they are.  That's just how they happened to turn out.  But if they can change, it would be for the better and so if they can change they really ought to change for the good of society.  It's my personal belief that to be "stuck-up" is a bad character trait and maybe even considered a sin.  But that's only my personal opinion.  I suppose people have the right to be the way they are so if you don't like it you don't have to be around people like that.

This is a poem I wrote last summer in 2011 based on me and my son's true life experience with a certain person.

"Stuck Up Girl"

Hey stuckup girl
just who do you think you are
you act like you drive a
brand new car
you act like you own the world
stuckup girl, stuckup girl

We been to the place you work allot
I reckon you already forgot
You wait on my son and me
while we order donuts, coffee and tea

It wasn't a surprise seeing you at
the coffee shop
smiling laughing and talking to your friend
acting like your so hot

We passed right by you more than once
You didn't look at us
You didn't speak to us
You just pretended not to notice us

It's mean of you to ignore us
I call it a form of wickedness

There been times I encountered people like you
who only added to me feeling blue

So stuck up girl, stuck up girl
what makes you so special
Is it the perfect way you speak
the perfect way you act
and the perfect way you think you look

When we first moved to town
and started coming to the bakery
and you waited on us
You weren't the least bit friendly

And one day I passed you by on the street
you spoke not one word to me
stuck up girl, stuck up girl

Fed-up I mentioned how you treat us to the owner
and right in front of you to
only then did you start to act a little friendlier

It was just our bad luck to happen upon you in the coffee shop
I found the way you acted very upsetting
You really hurt my feelings
stuck up girl, stuck up girl

My son said he didn't care
He wasn't suprised at your snobbishness
He knows of your unkindness

You think your so great
You think your so smart
but you aren't
stuck up girl, stuck up girl

My son and I depressed, unhappy and lonely
while here you are fine, well and happy
By you ignoring us and treating us badly
Do you think your helping society

So why you got to be this way
Maybe your moma didn't teach you the right way
Or maybe you are just very big flawed
They'll come a day people won't be so awed

by you
Stuck up girl, stuck up girl
you really need to get a clue

The God Song "Poetry in Song"

I was inspired to write this song after watching a movie; I think it was called "Set Apart".

God wants you to be set apart

God wants you to be set apart

apart from those devilish deals

apart from those devilish deeds

God wants you to be set apart

To be closer to God is an easy thing

Just seek him out and tell him you need help

Tell him your sorry and you want to know him

To be closer to God is an easy thing

You may have lots of fears and doubts

Just pray to God and ask him for help

With God on your side, you will always win

His spirit will lead you the right way

His spirit will lead you the right way

Little House on The Prairie Song

I watched an episode of "The Little House on The Prairie" titled "The Lord is My Shepard"
and I was inspired to write this song.  It's not actually a finished song; I'm having trouble finishing it.

Jonathan's Song

A child like that

makes it all worthwhile

The man who can cry

makes it all worthwhile

Good things in our lives

make it all worthwhile

----------------------------------------------------------

Everyone has bad thoughts

that is how it is

Just so we set things right

Everything will be alright

--------------------------------------------------------

Laughing and Loving

makes it all worthwhile

A mothers tender heart

makes it all worthwhile

Lots of things in life

make it all worthwhile

the end

Jonathan's song, a child, worthwhile, little house on the prairie, the Lord is my shepard, good things, life, God, do the right thing, laughing, loving, love,  love songs, learn, educate, living, tender heart, mother

Poetry in Song

My inspiration for writing this song was watching the movie actor Tyler Perry, on Oprah, talk about his father abusing him terribly during his childhood; it's been sometime ago when I wrote this.

"Fatherless Child"
Always I feel like a fatherless child
Always I feel like a fatherless child
Always I feel like a fatherless child
where is my safe home
where is my loving home

Why did my dad not show me any love
Why did my dad now show me any love
my dad he did not show me any love
Oh Lord, why did he hate me
Oh why did my dad hate me

all he ever did was scare me
all he ever did was beat me
all he ever did was hurt me
I had no where to go
I had no where to go

Oh Lord you see - I didn't have a father
Oh Lord you see - I didn't have a father
Oh Lord you see - I didn't have a father
I didn't have a real father
I didn't have a loving father

He's still an idiot to this very day
He's still an idiot to this very day
He's still an idiot to this very day
Because he was and is stupid
Because he was and is bad

"Bound for Glory" Poem

Upon watching the great movie "Bound For Glory" I was inspired to write this poem:

Bound for Glory was a very good movie

Twas about the famous Woodie Guthrie

He liked to write songs as he hoboed along

His wondrous songs he sang

as he hoped from train to train

He sang out important messages

in efforts to bring social changes
